Bobo welcomes the new tenant as he unloads his belongings off the U-haul truck, offering a helping hand. The town is excited to learn of the newcomer, everyone except Rev. Midnight Pawn, the oldest and largest occupied building in Midnight, some time ago it was bought by Bobo, who also had also purchased the house next door with the intent to rent it out for extra cash, however, years went by and no one did. Stop at the one traffic light in town, and everything looks normal. And there’s new resident Manfred Bernardo, who thinks he’s found the perfect place to work in private (and who has secrets of his own). There’s a diner (people who are just passing through tend not to linger). There’s a pawnshop (someone lives in the basement and is seen only at night). It’s a pretty standard dried-up western town. Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road.
